Nestled in the heart of Conegliano, the Zardetto family has been cultivating vineyards on the region’s steep, south-facing slopes for over a century. This extraordinary terrain is lush, rolling, and demanding. It was recognized with DOCG status in 2009 for its unique ability to produce world-class Prosecco. Today, under the leadership of fourth-generation winemaker Fabio Zardetto, the estate combines a deep respect for tradition with modern winemaking technology. Committed to organic farming, Zardetto allows the character of each vineyard site to shine, crafting wines that capture both freshness and longevity.
The Porta Monticano Prosecco DOC Brut takes its inspiration from Conegliano’s lively wine bars, where locals and visitors gather for a glass and conversation. This cuvée blends the familiar Glera grape with lesser-known regional varieties: Incrocio Manzoni, Verdiso, and Boschera. This results in a sparkling wine that is bright, savoury, and refreshingly full. Lively on the palate with crisp fruit and a touch of complexity, it offers a slightly richer expression than Zardetto’s classic Prosecco.
Perfect as an aperitif, this wine also shines alongside a generous platter of prosciutto, artisanal cheeses, and other simple Italian antipasti.
