LCBO Vintages Release
Viña Cobos, founded by Paul Hobbs, makes wines that are authentic expressions of the terroir from which they come. This 100% Malbec is grown in high-altitude vineyards situated between 2,300-3,900 feet above sea level (700 to 1,070 metres) in Valle de Uco and Luján de Cuyo.
The must is fermented with selected and native yeasts in 8- and 17-ton closed-top stainless steel tanks then aged in American oak barrels 10% of which are new, for 9 months. Bottled unfined in February 2018.
The wine is violet red with black tones. It displays an attractive nose with aromas of fresh black fruits and prunes. The palate displays good concentration and balance, with sweet yet supple tannins.
“A vivid and linear wine with blackberry and blueberry character. Granite. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Drink now.”
