Tenuta di Collosorbo, founded by Giovanna Ciacci in 1995, was part of the Tenuta di Sesta estate. Tenuta di Sesta has existed since 1850. It was one of the first estates to produce Brunello when DOC Brunello di Montalcino was created in 1966.
The Brunello di Montalcino is developed starting with the meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes from the estate’s best vineyards. From start to finish, the process is led by Laura Ciacci, the viticulturalist and her sister Lucia, the agronomist. This Brunello is the product of diligent and thorough fieldwork and of focused operations in the wine cellar prioritizing the preservation of the essence of the Sangiovese grape. This is an expressive Brunello showing freshness, balance and power. It’s made to age.
“The wine offers an intensely expressing aroma of red fruits soaked in balsamic, complex earthy-mineral notes, aromatic spices, and a tangy accent of sour fruit that adds freshness and complexity to the finish. It ends with a velvety-smooth mouthfeel with lovely balance.”

“The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is wonderfully fresh and lifted, with bright cherries, dusty rose and hints of sweet spice. This is soothingly soft and fleshy in feel, matched by ripe red fruits, licorice and juicy acidity that creates a zesty, fun expression. Saline-minerals saturate, as a gentle tug of tannins and sour citrus helps to create a pleasant tension through the long, classically dry finale.”
