The Felino Cabernet Sauvignon is ruby red in colour with pleasant aromas of ripe red fruit and a fresh touch of tobacco, cocoa and spices like nutmeg. Judging by the freshness of the wine, you may think there is some Cabernet Franc in this, but it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is nicely concentrated on the palate, round and smooth. It has a fairly long finish which resonates fresh red fruit.
Fermented by selected and native yeasts in eight and 17-ton closed-top stainless steel tanks. Aged in American oak barrels (roughly 10% new), for nine months. Bottled unfined.
Argentina is known almost as much for beef as they are for big red wines, so we recommend marinating a skirt steak in soy, garlic, aromatic herbs, and balsamic vinegar, then grilling it (when the weather allows) over hardwood charcoal. Serve it with a fresh, garlicky chimichurri.
“All varietal with the grapes coming 65% from Lujan de Cuyo, the rest from Uco Valley, the 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon Felino is fermented mostly in barrel and some stainless steel. Approachable on release, it’s full of meaty layers of red and black currant seasoned in flaky sea salt and a touch of menthol. Juicy, layered elements of toasted oak and graphite coat the fuller-bodied viscosity and woody overtones. This offers good value. Drink now through 2030.”
