Since 1934, Cantine Dezzani has focused on the faming of traditional Piedmontese grape varieties. What began as a humble operation has evolved into a celebrated winery, rooted in one of Italy’s most prized wine regions and recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional viticultural significance. Nestled in the picturesque village of Cocconato, Cantine Dezzani has become a proud symbol of its home and heritage.
Barbera is one of Italy’s most versatile varieties that pairs well with a broad range of medium intense dishes owing to its prominent acidity or ‘freshness’ and crunchy red fruit flavours. At Dezzani, the Barbera grapes are carefully harvested by hand in the fall, then aged for 12 months in traditional large oak barrels to bring added elegance and structure to the wine. The result is a mature, velvety Barbera—full-bodied and layered with dense red fruit, warm spices, and a subtle note of stone fruit that lends complexity and balance. It’s a complete expression of the variety, offering a fresh, lingering finish and the depth to evolve gracefully in bottle for another 5 to 7 years.
Pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats and aged, flavourful cheeses.
