Domaine Leflaive is renowned for excellence in crafting wines from Chardonnay that express the spirit of each terroir. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since their purchase in early 2004.
Fruit for this wine is sourced from one small Grand Cru climat on the southwestern slopes of the Montrachet hill in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune subregion. The harvest is entirely manual with intensive grape sorting and parcel-by-parcel passes for optimal ripeness. Vinification is done in casks, followed by 18 months of aging, 12 of which are in barrel. The resulting wine immediately delivers a precise profile of apples, tangerines and salted meyer lemons. It is light and energetic, with nuance and complexity throughout.
The perfect companion for a wild mushroom Vol-au-Vent in a cèpe and garlic sauce; or a whole sea bream served alongside mussel and clam velouté.
