From the northern edge of the Côte de Beaune, Olivier Leflaive Frères Aloxe-Corton captures the appellation’s signature combination of power, earthiness and refinement. The celebrated Montagne de Corton provides an exceptional setting for Pinot Noir, producing wines with greater structure and savoury depth than many of Burgundy’s more delicate village expressions.
The wine opens with aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry and red plum, layered with dried herbs, forest floor and a subtle touch of spice. Firm yet polished tannins frame the palate, while lively acidity keeps the ripe fruit fresh and composed. With time in the glass, notes of leather, mushroom and underbrush begin to emerge, hinting at the complexity it will develop with bottle age.
A beautifully structured red Burgundy with both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential, it is a natural partner for roast duck, beef tenderloin, wild mushrooms or herb-crusted lamb.
