The wines from Récolte are sourced from the original vineyards of Domaine Leflaive, reclaimed after a longstanding lease had come to an end of their once shared space. The meticulous care of the original biodynamic vineyard practices continued uninterrupted when these vineyards were returned to the Maison, complete with old-vines whose low yields allow for incredibly concentrated, perfumed wines to emerge.
Clos Saint Marc (1.70 ha) is part of the Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Les Vergers” appellation. These vine, belonging to the Estate, face North-East. The vines rest on the Chassagne-Montrachet stone and is ideal for Chardonnay.
This is a charming and satisfying wine — silky length, aromas of fresh apricots mixed with a minerality that echoes the stony terrain of the vineyard. A wine that could be nicely paired with mild cheeses like a fresh goat cheese.
“Mid lemon. The bouquet is solid, powerful, plenty going on here, exceptional intensity. The fruit builds really impressively on the palate, and the acidity teases. This is a substantial and exciting wine with just the right degree of flesh. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Oct 2025.”
