The wine-growing philosophy of Maison Olivier Leflaive is totally inseparable from the terroir. Whether it is a village appellation or a Grand Cru, everything always starts on a plot. This purity is expressed at all stages of winemaking, always with the greatest respect for Burgundian tradition and culture.
The Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières ‘Recolte du Domaine’ vines were planted in 1985. They’re located in the upper part of Folatières, in the place called Les Peux Bois. The wine is beautifully pure and luminous. Notes of citrus and white flower notes supported are by a slightly smoky woodiness that give it energy and finesse.
“Mid lemon yellow. Not exuberant on the nose but quietly classy. The bone structure is there, enough fruit concentration with yellow plums as well as apples, intelligent oaking and fine length. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Oct 2025.”
